Figaro Beneteau 3

The highlight of the season is the legendary Solitaire du Figaro, a multi-week stage regatta that shapes careers and turns sailors into legends. This is where it becomes clear who is not only fast, but also truly resilient. The Figaro 3 is much more than a 9.75-metre offshore racer. As the first series-produced one-design boat with foils, it demands technical finesse at the highest level – precise trimming, an understanding of physics and a constant feel for speed and balance. Thanks to strict class rules, it is not the equipment that counts, but the person. Strategy, intuition and mental strength are decisive factors in single-handed and double-handed regattas along the French Atlantic coast, where sleep becomes a luxury.

Solitaire du Figaro 2027

The Solitaire du Figaro is considered the most demanding single-handed offshore regatta in several stages around the French Atlantic coast. The regatta was launched in 1970 and has been held annually ever since. The race area, comprising the English Channel, the French Atlantic coast and the Bay of Biscay, demands everything from the skippers in terms of navigation, weather analysis and endurance. Many future winners of major ocean races began their careers here. Hence the slogan: ‘This is where legends are born.’

Transat Paprec 2027

The Transat Paprec is a two-handed transatlantic race that starts in Concarneau and ends in Saint Barth in the Caribbean. Since 1991, mixed teams of two have competed on Figaro 3 boats every two years on this traditional route. Offshore-sailing is one of the few sports in which there are no separate rankings for men and women. The complexity of the sport means that it is the mix of skills that counts.
